Jorge Coll Navarro is a Spanish composer and conductor from Valencia. He began his musical training at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música “Mestre Molins” in Quart de Poblet, where he completed the Grado Profesional de Música in both saxophone and piano, receiving the institution’s End-of-Degree Award in the specialization of Composition Fundamentals.
He continued his studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música “Joaquín Rodrigo” in Valencia, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition. Since 2024, he has been pursuing a Master’s Degree in Composition at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome. Throughout his academic training, he has studied with distinguished composers including Francisco José Martínez Gallego, Andrés Valero-Castells, and Silvia Colasanti.
His compositional output spans a broad range of repertoire, from concert works orchestral and chamber ensembles to works for wind band. His music has been performed by professional ensembles such as the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and the Orchestra ICO della Magna Grecia, and has been broadcast live by Rai 5 and Rai Radio 3. He has received commissions from internationally renowned institutions such as the Accademia Filarmonica Romana and the Festival della Valle d’Itria. His works have also been recognized with several composition awards, including First Prize at the Darcos International Composition Competition (Portugal), the Concorso Internazionale di Composizione “2 agosto” (Italy), and the San Antonio de Requena International Composition Competition (Spain).
Alongside his work as a composer, he has pursued conducting studies in both orchestra and wind band, notably through a masterclass with American conductor Dustin Barr and the Symphonic Bands Workshop at Berklee College of Music in Valencia.
